Meet the Dancers
Lachan Jaarda
Lachan Jaarda is in her Junior year at Hope College while majoring in Dance Performance and Choreography. Lachan is from Ann Arbor, Michigan. While attending Hope College, Lachan has performed at Hope many times, choreographed several pieces on Hope dance students, and taught a couple dance classes. She has been dancing since age five and is continuing to study and pursue her passion in life. Lachan’s long-term dream is to own a Dance Company and be a Professor in Dance. In the meantime, she hopes to gain experience performing in the Dance world, as well as teach dance classes, and choreograph for high school or college students.
Olivia Roberts
Olivia Roberts is a Hope College Senior, from San Diego, California. She is a Dance Production major. Her passion is dance for camera and showing different aspects of the human condition. Olivia debuted her first work in this medium at Hope College's Student Dance Showcase. She is also a part of Strike Time Dance Theater Company. This company travels to local elementary schools performing and teaching children about dance. In the future Olivia hopes to travel and share her love of dance with the world by making dance films. She believes dance can make a difference in the world and bring people together.
Megan Elseth
Megan Elseth is a junior from Gaylord, Minnesota. She studies dance and psychology at Hope, and dreams of someday combining dance and ministry to encourage others and build community.
Kendra Defazio
Kendra DeFazio is a Hope College senior from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. She is majoring in Dance Performance/Choreography and Business with a Marketing emphasis, and is a member of H2 Dance Company. Upon graduation, Kendra will be moving to Chicago to pursue a career in choreography and performance, with hopes of one day combining her love for choreography with her business background.
Catherine Dustrude
Catherine Dustrude is from Minnetonka, Minnesota. She is a junior, Dance major, with a double minor in Kinesiology and Creative Writing. After she graduates, she hopes to go into comedic entertainment, circus work, and/or choreograph for a Broadway-esque dance company or dance studio.
